Okay….lets start this off with the fact that I actually like this girl. I like her because I know how she is as a mother now, and respect that she is breastfeeding on national TV as a young mother, and because she stood her ground in saying that she didn’t need to be with someone just because she had a baby with them.
The episode began by her telling the world that her and her long time boyfriend had just broken up so she went to Facebook in search of a rebound. She found Cody and within an hour, hooked up and BOOM, two pink lines. Unlike most girls we’ve seen on 16 & Pregnant, Cody was the stage 5 clinger, not Maddy, Cody constantly told her he wanted to be with her and while she entertained the idea of that happening in the future, you could tell she wasn’t diggin’ it.
Cody went to a whopping ONE doctor’s appointment while Maddy was pregnant with his daughter and then expected Maddy to give their daughter his last name. She did not.
Maddy gives birth and surprisingly enough, Cody is there for it. He stays with her throughout her hospital stay and sleeps soundly as Maddy takes care of their crying baby.
Meanwhile, Cody’s teeth are decaying before our very eyes.
Maddy goes home and takes care of the baby on her own for a month. After that month, her mother kicks her out, as planned….saying that thee’s not enough room in the house for her and the baby. Shockingly, her mother had suggested that she move in with Cody, the guy she slept with ONCE and looks like a flat out dirt bag. You know, the ideal place for your child who is a new mother and your infant granddaughter. Thankfully, Maddy is smarter than that and her dad rocks, so she moves an hour away to live with him.
Cody acts all surprised that she doesn’t move in with him (his parent shad built a nursery), but lets be honest, you see your child ONE time in two months and you expect someone to move in with you and sleep in the same room? I think not. Ironically, Cody winds up actually coming to see his daughter once she lives an hour away from him.
Since the show, Maddy has continued to breastfeed and has to cut dairy out of her diet completely in an effort to stop her daughter’s eczema. Cody does not see her, saying there’s no point if she can’t spend the night. He is also denying that it’s his daughter all together, and is saying Maddy is refusing to get a DNA test done. Because apparently he’s incapable of doing one himself.
All in all, Maddy’s episode was great and had minimal drama, and she frankly had a pretty good head on her shoulders. For having a mom who kicked her daughter and grandchild out, she was obviously raised right, and i girls take anything from this, it’s that you don’t need no man, and you don’t stay with douche bags just because you have a baby in common.
